Daily Schedule

Day 1: Rusinga Island

Pick up at Kabunde Airport and drive to Mbita. Catch water bus to Rusinga. Visit the Rusinga Island Lodge and enjoy the view. Visit Mombasa and Bird Island (Bird Islands ) for bird watching. Visit the Tom Mboya Mausoleum for historical knowledge. Return to the lodge for a sun downer experience.Dinner and bonfire night.

Day 2: Mfangano Island

Breakfast and Check-out from the Lodge. Boat ride to Mfangano Island. Check in at Mfangano Lodge. Visit the Mwanga Caves. Visit Kwitone Rock Shelter to see the rock painting. Visit the Abasuba Community Peace Museum. Late lunch at the lake shore. Swimming and participating in water sports (optional). Evening cycling and interaction with the locals. Return to the Lodge for rest and refreshment. Dinner follows.

Day 3: Takawiri Island

Breakfast and check-out from the lodge. Drive to the lake shore, then take the water bus to Takawiri Island. Set up a tent camp and settle. Take a boat tour around the island. Swim in the lake and enjoy the pristine sand.Lunch. Hiking and wandering around Takawiri, including a bird-watching trip.Sun-downer and return to the campsite. Self-prepared dinner. Bonfire experience (optional)

Day 4: Homabay

Breakfast. Dismantle the tent and clean the campsite.Catch boat to Mbita, then drive to Ruma National Park. Experience a game drive in the park. Hike Homa Hills (hot springs). Drive to Kendu Bay. Lunch at Cold Spring Hotel Check in at Jabali Country Lodge Dinner

Day 5: Homabay

Breakfast. Visit Kendu Bay Old Town. Visit the Oriang Women Self-Help Group and have lunch at the Pikadili Hotel. Visit Odango Swamp to see the flamingos. Visit Simbi Nyaima Lake, then drive back to the lodge for dinner. .

Day 6: Breakfast and check-out from the lodge. Drop off at Kabunde Airport.

Travel Tips & Information

Luggage

Soft-sided bags only (max. H66 × L42 × W28 cm). Luggage space in safari vehicles is limited. Bags with wheels are permitted.

Photography

Bring binoculars and a good camera to capture wildlife and landscapes.

Participation

Guests may engage with local community initiatives along the route, experiencing conservation and education projects first-hand.
