Itinerary

Day 1 (Rusinga Island)

• 0700hrs – Pick-up at Kabunde Airport and drive to Mbita.
• Catch water bus to Rusinga
• Check in at Rusinga Island Lodge
• Visit Rusinga Island Bridge and enjoy the view
• Visit Mombasa and Bird Island (bird Islands) for bird-watching
• Visit Tom Mboya mausoleum for historical education
• Back to Lodge for a sundowning experience
• Dinner and bonfire night

Day 2 (Mfangano Island)

• 0700hrs – Breakfast and check-out from the lodge
• Boat ride to Mfangano Island
• Check-in at Mfangano Lodge
• Visit to Mwanga Caves
• Visit to Kwitone Rock Shelter to view the rock painting
• Visit the Abasuba Community Peace Museum
• Late lunch at lakeshore
• Swimming and taking part in water sports (optional)
• Evening cycling and interaction with the local community
• Back to the Lodge for refreshment and rest
• Dinner

Day 3 (Takawiri Island)

• 0700hrs – Breakfast and check-out from the lodge
• Drive to the lakeshore and take water bus to Takawiri Island
• Set up a tented camp and settle
• Boat tour around the island
• Swimming in the lake and enjoying the white sand
• Lunch
• Hiking and walking around Takawiri and experience a bird-watching session
• Sundowner and back to the campsite
• Self-prepared dinner
• Bonfire experience (optional)

Day 4 (Homabay)

• 0700hrs – Breakfast
• Dismantle the tent and clear up the campsite
• Catch boat to Mbita
• Drive to Ruma National Park
• Experience a game drive at the park
• Hike Homa Hills (hot springs)
• Drive to Kendu Bay
• Lunch at Cold Spring Hotel
• Check-in at Jabali Country Lodge
• Dinner

Day 5 (Homabay)

• 0800hrs – Breakfast
• Visit Kendu Bay Old Town
• Visit Oriang Women Self-Help Group
• Lunch at Pikadili Hotel
• Visit Odango Swamp to see flamingos
• Visit the great Simbi Nyaima Lake
• Drive back to lodge
• Dinner

Day 6

• 0800hrs – Breakfast and check-out from the lodge
• Drop off to Kabunde Airport
