Josephine Linet Ambaisi is the Projects Coordinator and Gender Liaison Officer at Angaza Vijiji and is one of the successful products of AV’s student and intern mentorship programme. She holds a BSc in Wildlife Management from Maasai Mara University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Wildlife Management at the University of Eldoret (Kenya). Josephine has extensive experience working on community-focused projects, including the development of citizen science structures and community biodiversity monitoring frameworks.
At AV, she has coordinated two projects centred on developing a community-based approach to monitoring and action for two of the charismatic bat species that AV has been working to conserve in Western and Coastal Kenya. She has experience in school and community outreach as well as general project administration.
Josephine has several years of work experience as a field assistant in wildlife-based projects, including wildlife community outreach initiatives and biodiversity research and monitoring projects. She is an alumna of the prestigious Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP), bringing a wealth of research experience and expertise gained from diverse ecological research activities. Additionally, she has participated in wildlife community-based projects in conservancies around Maasai Mara National Reserve and Amboseli National Park, acquiring skills in working in remote areas and using standard research equipment.
